Why are some granite colors more expensive than others?
Availability, rarity, extraction, and transportation expenses all factor into determining pricing. Also, if a particular color is in high demand, the price will likely increase.
How do I know when it’s time to reseal my granite?
You can test if your granite countertop needs to be resealed by pouring some water on a small area. If the water beads up, your sealer it still good. However, if the water soaks in, it’s time to reseal. Always use a water-based sealer that is specified for granite or natural stone. This can typically be done every six months to one year.
Can I put a hot pot directly on my granite countertop?
You can, but we don’t recommend it. Although granite is very heat resistant, it is not heat-proof. We recommend always using hot pads and trivets when placing hot pots and pans on your granite countertops.
Will seams be visible?
Yes, however Accent Surfaces will take every precaution and consideration when determining seam location. Items taken into consideration include slab size, customer wants, kitchen layout, site conditions, site access, crew safety, material yield, and cabinet structure.
If chipped or stained, can granite be repaired?
The damage will need to be evaluated before determining whether or not it can be repaired, but we will do our best to restore your granite countertop to it’s original beauty.
